Question #2: What freelancing activities are you going to do?
Do you spend your free time in Adobe After Effects or Photoshop? Maybe customer service is your thing, or graphic design, business consulting, accounting, or project management.
There are over 3,500 categories and subcategories and skills in Upwork, so there’s bound to be something that you have interest and experience in.
And maybe you already know the answer to this question, but it’s worth spending a little time considering what do you like to do in your spare time? And what you don’t like to do. What is or was your day job vs what do you like to do? It may be the same thing, but maybe not. Freelancing is about making money, but it’s also about you choosing what you want to do, when you want to do it, and from where. So a little soul searching thinking about what your strengths are, what your really good at, what you enjoy doing, and what kind of customers you like dealing with is time well spent.
Another consideration on the topic of what you’re going to do is thinking about related activities to your core interest that you may be able to do.
